Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite Calcium (MCHA) – The Gold Standard in Bioavailable Bone Support

100% of calcium in our MCHA is elemental calcium—not calcium carbonate or synthetic isolate.

This is real calcium, in its most absorbable and species-appropriate form, naturally bound to phosphorus, collagen, amino acids, and trace minerals—just like in raw bone.

NEW CALCIUM VALUES (PER UPDATED CERTIFICATE OF ANALYSIS):

Each 455g bag contains over 100,000mg of elemental calcium.

This is based on the most recent verified value of 22.0% calcium, or 220mg calcium per gram of powder.

How to Use MCHA to Balance Raw Muscle/Organ Grinds (No Bone):

Feeding 10% bone equivalent?

Here’s the math:

•195.3mg calcium is needed per 1oz muscle/organ

•A 16oz portion = 3,125mg calcium required

•MCHA provides 220mg calcium per 1g

•3,125mg ÷ 220mg = 14.2g MCHA

•We recommend rounding up to 14g per pound for ease—this gives ~3,080mg calcium (perfect for 10% bone replacement)

Result:

One 455g bag will balance 32–34 lbs of muscle/organ mix at the 10% bone level when using 14g per lb of food.

What Makes MCHA Superior?

•Derived from raw Australian bone – freeze-dried, never heat-treated

•Retains full bone matrix – calcium, phosphorus (>10%), protein (>26%), natural chondroitin sulfate (>2%)

•Contains amino acids such as glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline that support collagen and connective tissue integrity

•Naturally low in lead – ultra-pure and safe for daily use

Unlike bone meal or calcium carbonate, MCHA does not spike blood calcium levels.

It supports steady, rhythmic calcium absorption—crucial for pregnant dogs, puppies, and seniors.

MCHA also contains natural vitamin D and growth factors found only in real bone—not in synthetic formulas.

For Pregnant & Nursing Dogs:

Late Gestation (Weeks 6–9):

•Add 14g MCHA per 1 lb of boneless muscle/organ food (about ¼ tsp per lb)

•Supports fetal bone growth, uterine tone, and oxytocin function

Labor Support (Stage 2 Onset or Weak Contractions):

•Offer a pinch to ⅛ tsp mixed with honey or broth

•Can be licked from a spoon or given with a small syringe

•Let her self-regulate when offered calmly

Storage & Use Instructions:

•MCHA is not water soluble—knead into food or mix well with raw grinds

•Store in a cool, dry, dark place—away from light or moisture

•Each package includes a silica desiccant pack and printed storage and dosage instructions

•Shelf life: 3 years from production if stored properly

Transparency Matters:

We are happy to provide a Certificate of Analysis upon request.

Every batch we source comes with updated mineral testing and is held to strict standards for purity, safety, and nutritional value.

This is not your average calcium powder.

Our MCHA is a clean, whole-food mineral source made from certified BSE-free, pasture-raised Australian cattle—never exposed to chemicals, radiation, or high-heat processing.

It’s as close as you can get to true raw bone nutrition in powdered form—safely and precisely dosed.

Quantity
  • Egg shells don't contain other minerals. This puts pets at risk for phosphorus deficiency.

MCHA contains plenty of phosphorus and the ideal calcium to phosphorus ratio of 2:1, just like real bones. MCHA is also rich in magnesium, zinc and vitamin D, as well as bone growth factors, collagen and amino acids. This lack of phosphorus means egg shells can't be used to balance foods for puppies and pregnant dogs, while MCHA contains the proper ratio of minerals and is safe for all life stages.
